The son of a social worker and a school teacher, Ben Affleck has one brother, Casey Affleck, also an actor. An actor from a very early age, his first big role was at the age of eight in a PBS mini-series. That same year he met Matt Damon, who would become his best friend and begin a very successful collaboration which eventually lead to their Best Original Screenplay Oscar for Good Will Hunting.
